Office Hours are By Appointment Only

  • Yes—we proudly offer telehealth for clients anywhere in North Carolina! Telehealth sessions are secure, confidential, and conducted through a HIPAA-compliant video platform. It’s a convenient option whether you're at home, traveling, or just prefer meeting from the comfort of your own space.

  • Your first session is all about getting to know you and making sure you feel comfortable. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you hope to work on, and any questions or concerns you might have. This is also a chance for your therapist to understand your background, goals, and how best to support you. There’s no need to prepare anything or have all the answers—just come as you are.

After that, sessions usually focus on exploring your thoughts and feelings, working through challenges, and finding strategies that fit your needs. Therapy is a team effort, and each session moves at a pace that feels right for you. By the end of your first visit, you’ll have a good idea of how therapy works, if it feels like a good fit, and what the next steps will be.

  • A typical session lasts from 50-53 minutes.

Cost & Insurance

  • Yes, we accept a variety of insurance plans. We are in-network with:

    • Blue Cross and Blue Shield

    • Aetna

    • North Carolina State Employees Aetna CPP Program

    • Optum/United Healthcare (select therapists only)

If we are out-of-network with your provider, we can still provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) so you can request reimbursement directly from your insurance company, depending on your out-of-network benefits.

    • Copay: A fixed amount you pay out of pocket for a service, like a therapy session, at the time of your appointment. For example, you might pay $20 per visit regardless of the total cost.

    • Coinsurance: A percentage of the cost of a service that you pay after your deductible has been met. For example, if your coinsurance is 20%, you pay 20% of the session fee, and your insurance covers the rest.

    • Deductible: The amount you must pay out of pocket for healthcare services before your insurance begins to cover costs. For example, if you have a $500 deductible, you pay the full cost of services until you reach $500 in payments during the year.

  • Our session fees vary depending on the type of service and the length of the appointment. We strive to keep therapy affordable and transparent, and we’re happy to discuss payment options during your initial consultation.

While we accept certain insurance plans, if your session is filed with your insurance company, the amount you owe will depend on your specific plan and whether it includes a copay, coinsurance, or deductible. For copay or coinsurance plans, you’ll pay the required amount as outlined by your insurer. If you have a deductible plan, you will be responsible for paying the contracted charges for your sessions until your deductible is met. Many clients also pay out-of-pocket or use flexible spending accounts.

If cost is a concern, please let us know—we may offer sliding scale fees or referrals to low-cost resources to help make therapy accessible for you.

  • When registering, clients are required to keep a card on file to cover out of pocket costs, co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and HSA cards.

  • We understand that cost can be a barrier to accessing therapy, which is why we offer a limited number of reduced rate spots based on financial need. A sliding scale means that session fees are adjusted according to your income or financial situation, helping to make therapy more affordable and accessible. If you're interested in this option, we’re happy to discuss availability and work together to find a rate that’s manageable for you. Your mental health matters, and we’re committed to supporting you in finding the care you deserve.

  • A typical session lasts from 50-53 minutes.

Confidentiality & Privacy

  • Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy, and we take it seriously. What you share in session stays between you and your therapist, creating a safe space for open, honest conversations. However, there are a few legal and ethical exceptions. We are required to break confidentiality if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult, or if we are ordered by a court. If any of these situations arise, we will make every effort to discuss it with you before taking action.

  • Protecting your privacy is a top priority in our practice. All client information is kept strictly confidential and handled in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations. We use secure, encrypted systems for scheduling, communication, and record-keeping to ensure your personal and health information remains private. What you share in therapy stays between you and your therapist, with very limited exceptions, such as situations involving safety concerns or legal obligations. Your trust is important to us, and we are committed to creating a safe, respectful space where you can speak freely.

Communication & Support

  • You’re welcome to reach out to your therapist between sessions through our client portal or by email. Just keep in mind that they might not be able to respond immediately, as most therapists check messages during business hours and will address your concerns during your next session. If you ever need urgent support, it’s a good idea to contact a trusted friend, family member, or a crisis hotline. Your therapist will also explain the best way to communicate and how quickly you can expect a reply, so you feel supported while keeping clear professional boundaries.

  • If you reach out and are not yet established with our practice, please allow 24-48 hours to get back to you.

Effectiveness & Process

  • Healing through therapy is a personal journey that takes time, patience, and effort. Just like a seedling needs nurturing to grow, meaningful change happens gradually as you work together with your therapist. The pace can vary for everyone, depending on your unique experiences and goals. Therapy is a space where you actively engage in understanding yourself, processing emotions, and developing new skills. The effort you put in, combined with professional support, helps cultivate lasting healing and growth—step by step, day by day. It’s important to celebrate the small victories along the way, as they build the foundation for deeper transformation. Remember, healing isn’t always linear, but every step forward brings you closer to greater well-being.

  • Therapy looks different for everyone, but over time, you may notice signs that it’s working—like feeling more self-aware, coping better with stress, communicating more effectively, or experiencing improved relationships. Progress can be subtle at first, and it doesn’t always follow a straight line. A big part of therapy is checking in regularly with your therapist about what’s working, what’s not, and how you’re feeling overall. Together, you’ll adjust goals and approaches as needed to make sure you’re getting the support you need. Growth takes time, but small shifts often lead to meaningful, lasting change.

Crisis & Emergency

  • If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 immediately.

If you’re going through a mental health crisis, it’s important to get support right away. Here are some steps you can take:

    • Reach out to someone you trust: Talk to a friend, family member, or someone who can support you. Sharing what you’re going through can help you feel less alone.

    • Call a crisis hotline: These services offer confidential, immediate help 24/7. They can listen, provide guidance, and connect you with resources. Some national hotlines include:

      • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (USA): 988

      • Crisis Text Line (USA): Text HOME to 741741

    • Go to the emergency room: If you feel you’re in immediate danger or can’t keep yourself safe, please visit the nearest emergency room right away.

Remember, you don’t have to face this alone—help is available. While we’re here to support you, we are not a crisis center. For immediate assistance, please use the resources listed above.

  • While we are here to support you through life’s challenges, we are not an emergency or crisis service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or feel unsafe, please seek immediate help by calling 911, going to your nearest emergency room, or contacting a crisis hotline such as the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988. These resources are available 24/7 to provide immediate, life-saving support. Once you are safe, we’re here to help you continue your healing journey in a supportive, ongoing way.
