Today (December 19, 2024), I finally read my son Hunter's first book in a series he is writing. Although I’d known about it for months, I hesitated, as it’s his personal testimony. As a mother, it's heartbreaking to see your child suffer, especially with mental health struggles, and feel powerless. But I realized it’s no longer about us—it’s about them.
Hunter’s book offers a clear, vivid look at depression and the loneliness of middle school. I’m incredibly proud of him—not just as his mother, but as a remarkable writer and person. His journey to faith is his own, shaped by God. His book is free, insightful and quick read. It is a must for teens, parents, youth leaders, and for anyone who struggles with depression.
