In 2010, Jackie opened Jackie’s Basics and Beyond Dog Training to help people build strong, respectful bonds with their dogs through balanced training and positive reinforcement. Her team has helped countless dogs and owners form meaningful connections.

Jackie’s Basics and Beyond has made a significant impact in the Triangle, with many dogs and humans becoming certified Therapy and Service Teams, offering comfort to local nonprofits and serving as Red Cross Comfort Animals. Graduates also return to share their success stories at trade shows and expos.

A passionate advocate for mental health, Jackie works with individuals facing physical and mental challenges, training and certifying therapy and service dogs to improve their well-being.

I am proud to call Jackie my mom. Growing up, I learned from her empathy and loving care for others, watching her lead by example.

Jackie’s Basics and Beyond is located in Cary, North Carolina.

Jackie’s passion for animal training began on her farm, where she trained show horses before transitioning to dog training. With over 13 years of experience, she has trained more than 160 Therapy Dog teams in the Triangle area, creating strong, compassionate teams that handle any situation with calm professionalism.

Dogs With A Purpose was founded from Jackie’s desire to build a community of dogs and their owners dedicated to making a positive impact. For the past decade, Jackie has trained people and their K-9 partners to form therapy dog teams that provide emotional support to those in need. Her program strengthens the bond between humans and dogs, empowering them to make a difference and spread kindness. This is the heart of why Jackie started this incredible organization—helping people connect, make a difference, and improve lives one therapy dog team at a time.
