Our Staff
J. Michele Blake, LCMHC, MBA Founder/Team Therapist
I take a personable and strengths-based approach to help clients navigate life's challenges. I believe in creating a warm, supportive environment where clients feel truly heard and understood. By focusing on your unique strengths and abilities, we work together to build on what’s already working well in your life while addressing areas of growth. I empower you to develop the tools and confidence needed to overcome obstacles, fostering resilience and long-term positive change. My goal is to guide you toward greater self-awareness, healing, and a more fulfilling life, all while respecting your individuality and journey.
Empowerment. Resilience. Balance.
David Blake, LCMHCA, MBA, NCC Administrator/Team Therapist
I believe that a strong counselor-client relationship is key to personal growth. I specialize in helping individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, chronic illness, job stress, and other life challenges. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients break negative thought patterns and replace them with positive, constructive thoughts. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to provide structured sessions focused on mindfulness and emotional regulation. My focus is on empowering clients to communicate effectively, set realistic goals, and navigate life with greater self-awareness and confidence.
Perspective. Insight. Change.
Zoë Blake, Administrative Assistant
Zoë is a dedicated administrative assistant with a warm and approachable demeanor, committed to making your experience as smooth and welcoming as possible. She is here to help with scheduling, insurance inquiries, and other administrative needs, always offering support with a friendly smile. Outside of her role at our practice, Zoë is also a dog trainer at Jackie's Basics and Beyond, combining her passion for animals with her training expertise. In the future, she hopes to become more involved in our teen mentorship program, participate in mental health groups, integrate therapy animals into our practice, and support mental health initiatives in local schools.
Sophie, Certified Therapy Dog
Sophie, a beloved therapy dog, will regularly visit our practice thanks to the generosity of Dogs with a Purpose in Cary, North Carolina. With her gentle nature and calming presence, she brings warmth and comfort to everyone she meets. Sophie helps create a welcoming and supportive environment, offering quiet companionship or a playful wag of encouragement. She is always ready to provide a little extra love and reassurance during your visit.
Sophie became part of our larger family after her owner’s dog, Abby, passed away from an aggressive form of cancer. Sadly, Sophie’s owner, Dennis Kelly, passed away in March 2022 after his long battle with cancer. Throughout their lives, both Abby and Sophie brought Dennis and our family comfort, unconditional love, and a reason to smile, even in the toughest times. Dennis, along with Abby and Sophie, dedicated their time to visiting addiction rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and schools, spreading joy and support to those in need.
